Post-Yoga Feast/Coffee Break

Yoga is not new to me, I went to yoga studio when I was 10. Back  then I was just a  kid (was flexible) curious about the stuff everyone’s talking about and didn’t have any idea about meditation and relaxation. But 10 years later when I came back to Yoga, it totally means different to me. I need yoga to save me from distress, insomnia and neck pain/ stiff neck… ughhh I’m so old.

But trust me, I’m not the only person living here having such problems, everyone seems to be stressed out here. Hence it’s so precious for me to have a quiet place at the heart of the city that could let me breath!

Yoga Bambam is one of the coolest yoga studios I’ve been, located at Sheung Wan, the heart of the city but keeping you away from the hustle and bustle. It’s surrounded by small vendors, cafes and restaurants. Since it’s on the ground floor, you can enjoy the street view while stretching your body.

After an introduction course, I joined the Hatha Yoga course every Sunday afternoon. My instructor Melanie is a friendly and energetic lady, her class could be really dynamic and interactive.

Usually my yoga class finishes at 4:30, snack time! Fortunately Yoga Bambam is in between Sheng Wan and Sai Ying Pun, so I’d never worry about where to eat!

I put this cafe at the first place because I DO LOVE THEIR STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE! Before I thought I would never like something in strawberry flavour cuz it’s too sweet, but Nosh obviously know how to blend the sweetness of fruits into the freshness of yogurt! Besides, their brunch are also my fav. It’s a good place to chill at and you should pay more attention to their interior wall murals.

This one is just next to Yoga Bam Bam, renowned for its pancake. I only tried once because this restaurant quite popular and is always full…  I tried its pancake all day breakfast, honestly the pancake is really soft but the whole dish is too heavy for me, which means from another perspective you don’t need to worry about the portion.

Oldish

Even though I’m not a British cuisine enthusiast (are you?) , I think Oldish is still worth a try. One of its selling point is the vintage interior design, and also the food quality is good too. Don’t miss it out when you pass by! (@Fahionmimo)

OOTD: Let’s cross the sea

Long time no see, and belated congratulations to my 1-year-old blog FASHIONMIMO!!!

I started my half-year internship one month ago, right after I came back in HK. As a newbie in PR industry, everyday is a challenge, plus my bloody insomnia came back to visit me again… Recently I really have that feeling that maybe I will be able to write something like Eat Pray Love after this period. Yeah you could expect my next post will be all about meditation, yoga and stress relief…

Photo journey: The last week in Lion City

Still can’t believe that I’m already flying back and about to have my half-year internship. I don’t know how to conclude my 4-month exchange life (or say 4-month vacation) but Singapore has been treating me so good. I won’t forget all those crazy but awesome things happened here 🙂

Even though I always grumble about how boring the life here is (I’m sorry haha), I realized there are still lots of things haven’t done when I was about to leave. So I used my last 7 days here to explore more great spots in the Lion City.

So regret that I’ve just discovered Bukit Timah at the last moment! Those restaurants, the saddle club and the floral market… and I spent a really good night at Tin Hill Social last Friday. They have several indoor/outdoor areas for dining and bar. It would be so relaxing to chill at the outdoor area with live band at night 🙂 (@Fashionmimo)

City Hall is another great spot that I didn’t explore much before. Especially the Raffles Hotel and the Chijmes: historical buildings with fine restaurants. If you are a tourist and are looking for something about the “old” Singapore, you can’t miss it! (@Fashionmimo)

Denim X Denim

Recently I found out some old pics about Denim. It was 2014 when I shot some pics for my layout design assignment and till today I still find these outfits interesting.

I always believe that if you wanna wear denim smart, just wear it on another denim! BUT! Just be aware of the colors and designs of your denim clothes, I don’t suggest you pairing your loose shirt and loose pants together…cuz sometimes it could be really awful… (@Fashionmimo)

70’s Fever

Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival is back in Hong Kong again this weekend. With over 45,000 participants in 2014, the scale is even larger this year . So please dress up and get ready for the music, arts and film carnival.

It’s never too hard to decide what to wear for a music festival: you could just wear whatever you want! To be Comfortable and Interesting, I think maybe that’s the only rule.

In fact, I have been dreaming to do some 70s outfit for a long time but I don’t have much chances to practice it since normally I’m just a bookworm shuttling between lecture hall and dorm.

IMG_8789

IMG_8791

So let’s see what are my key concepts about 70s:

1.Denim, especially flared jeans

If I have to choose 10 coolest designs ever, flared jeans must top the list. People always say there’s a revival of flared jeans but seriously has it ever been out of date??

IMG_8996

2. Midriff Top, don’t be shy to show your belly!

Before the prosperity of American Apparel, my impression of 70s is all about the midriff top! Now they call it crop top and it’s just for those with perfect abs, what a shame!

3. Miniskirt, the high-waisted one

The fashion revolution of miniskirt since the early 1960s gives an enduring impact on our clothing culture. Even though it’s been over 50 years since the miniskirt protest outside Dior London, we still see the shorten hemline as a symbol to fight for women’s right today.

OOTD: les cheveux court

First post in October! Just realised that there are only 3 months left for this year, it’s just too fast! I keep wondering why time passes much much faster now than when I was a kid, anyone feels the same?

In order to get rid of my tangled long hair and to welcome the upcoming turtule-neck season(:D), I cut my long hair short. And have to say, it’s super cool to have a carefree and neat hairstyle! Especially good for those mornings when I gotta rush to class after maybe like 4 hours sleep, I don’t even need a comb 😀

IMG_0317

It rained a lot in Hong Kong these days, then after this maybe we will eventually have the cool autumn. So let’s see what my OOTD is for the pre-fall weather.

Shirt from M&S, pencil skirt from ZARA. Heeled sandals and clutch are from MOUSSY. (@Fashionmimo)

Maybe some would ask: WHY pencil skirt AGAIN?? Well, I have to apologise for my pencil-skirt fetish(lol) but I’m always in love with their nice cutting!

IMG_8031

This time I chose a longer one with side slits. The thick fabric brings more vintage feelings to the whole look. (@Fashionmimo)

Also I need some petit flowers to avoid being dull, ring and necklace are both from the french brand Les Nereides. (@Fashionmimo)

Happy Stroll

Finally back in Hong Kong for school but obviously I am not in working mood in the first week. Hence I met up with some friends and started a shoot-stroll-eat day 😀 Sheung Wan(the soho area near Central) has always been my favourite strolling spot in Hong Kong, so this time we shot our OOTD there and had some delectable plates in a restaurant with a petit garden.

The Food

We randomly walked in Mo’s Bros because of it’s delicate little gate. It is so lucky that we got walk-in seats. Cuz later when I checked online, people complained that this place is always full. The address is B/F & G/F, 16 Elgin Street, Soho, Central, Hong Kong. (@Fashionmimo)

OOTD: Summer Outfits

It has always been a problem to cool myself down under the sticky hot weather. You know, no one would really care about what you’re wearing when it’s above 30 degrees Celsius all the time. When everyone is stinky and sticky then you realise FASHION is not needed anymore (laugh).

Just kidding, I still need to blog and THANK YOU Alison and Tori for modeling this time 😀 Wondering if there’s anyone like us struggling in the hot weather, let’s talk about our summer outfits! To be neat and comfortable, that’s my summer dressing rule.

The cold colored denim and the white dress could be a good match. (@Fashionmimo)
